Where Is The Festival Held And When?
Well, you will find out that when you are looking the original city of Keene, that played host to the pumpkin festival for 25 years is getting one back this fall. However, this is not the main festival that has been known to draw in the large crowds and craft vendors. Instead, this is a festival that is coming back on a much smaller scale than what you would expect. The festival that everyone tends to refer to as the granddaddy of them all is now found in Laconia. At the time of this writing, which is in August of 2017 the festival was scheduled to be held on October 14th of this year.
Why You Should Go To The Pumpkin Festival In Laconia
Now you may be asking yourself why you should be going to the pumpkin festival? Well, that is because you are going to have a great time and this is a family friendly event. This means you are going to have a chance to get the best time with your family in a safe environment that is known for setting some world records in the number of pumpkins they have lit around the place. So this is definitely a reason to go, but what else is nice is you are going to be in the beautiful city of Laconia, which is in New Hampshire.
What else you will notice is you have a chance to go out and see quite a few vendors. Now the downside is some of the vendors are not going to be as popular as the vendors that were in Keene and some people have complained about their not being as many pumpkins. However, the pumpkins you do have in Laconia and if they are in good enough weather it will help you out in getting the enjoyment out of the pumpkins that are lit and going to make it quite a bit easier for you to enjoy seeing the pumpkins.
Strolling through the downtown region is something else you will enjoy. Yes, Laconia is not nearly as big as Keene, but it does have a vibrant downtown area with plenty of local shops that are open. Now to mention Laconia has a tendency to close down the downtown area off to vehicle traffic. So you do not have to be concerned about vehicles coming into the area, which allows you to have an even better time with your family and know that they are going to be safe.
Why Not Go To The Pumpkin Festival In Laconia
Well, we have to say that the reason that you would not want to go to the pumpkin festival is because of inclimate weather. Face it, this is New Hampshire and this does not guarantee you are going to have great weather all the time. So if the weather is rainy, it will still be a good time, but this is an outdoor festival and you need to realize any type of bad weather can make it impossible for you to enjoy the festival. Not to mention if the weather is bad you will notice that it is going to be nearly impossible for you to see any of the pumpkins lit up.
