Strawberry Banke
If you are looking for a great time that is going to be keeping you outside then you will really want to go to Strawberry Banke. This is a location that you are going to be able to explore outdoors as it is located in the older historic district of Portsmouth, but it also has a walk that you are going to enjoy because you have a chance to see some of the older buildings that are in the town and know they are going to be the places you would have never seen before.
What is really nice is this is the oldest settlement in [popup_product]New Hampshire [/popup_product]from the Europeans. So this is going to be something that a lot of people are going to like because it is going to allow them to see the history that is present in the city and know they are going to have a great time. USS Albacore

If that is the case, then you will love the fact that in Portsmouth they have a great option here because it will be very easy for you to take a tour of this decommissioned and now a museum submarine, the [popup_product]USS Albacore[/popup_product]. So you will have a great time and know that you are going to have a chance to get out and enjoy the place and the submarine.
What really sets this submarine off from the others is the fact this is a submarine that was a research submarine at first and often had the teardrop shape that a lot of people have grown used to seeing. However, with this design it was a trend setter at the time and now it is going to be one of the common things that people are used to seeing. So you will love the fact that you can finally take a tour of the place and know that it is a museum that is helping to preserve the history of the submariner world.

John Paul Jones House
When you are in Portsmouth you will notice the city has a strong connection to the sea and the navy. However, what you need to realize is this home is named after the naval war hero and it is the home that he would live in because of the gorgeous views it has and the treasures that it holds inside of it. The city in an attempt to preserve the home and the owners have transformed the home into a museum that is going to be based in the home.
The museum showcases a lot of the history of the city. So you can say that it is a city type of museum that will make it easier for you to know that the city is one that that has been around for quite some time and it will allow you to have a great time. What is really nice is if you are observant you will notice the displays and the exhibits that are present in the location are changing on a regular basis. Since these are changing you do not have to be concerned about seeing the same exhibit when you go back, but if you are worried about that then you should check to see what is going on before you go to the location.

Portsmouth Harbor Light
Lighthouses are something that I have loved ever since I was a little kid and if a place has a lighthouse, you better believe that it is going to make my list of places that are a must for you to go and see. In Portsmouth you will love the fact they have a great lighthouse that is available for you to go visit. What else is nice is the location of the lighthouse is going to make it easier for you to enjoy your day and actually plan the entire trip.
Now you may be asking what we mean by the location of the place, but that is very easy to figure out if you know about the place. The Portsmouth Harbor Light is located inside the walls of Fort Constitution which is in New Castle However, it is close enough that you are going to be able to easily make a trip to the lighthouse and know that you are going to have a great trip.
What is nice is the lighthouse is still operational, but it is maintained outside of the light, by the Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. Something else that is nice is the Portsmouth Harbor LIghthouse has been featured on a couple of ghost hunting shows, mainly the Sci-Fi hit series [popup_product]Ghost Hunters[/popup_product] was here. So this will definitely be something that you are going to enjoy because you can see one of the places that was featured on television.

The Music Hall In Portsmouth
While you may not think about a music hall being a place you would want to travel to and do things, this is one of those exceptions. The Music Hall in Portsmouth has been around for quite a few years and is now considered as a non-profit location that has plenty of shows that feature the local artists and help them showcase their talents and needs. However, the Music Hall is more than just the local gathering place that is going to leave an impression on you and with it being located close to the historic district makes it easier for you to enjoy your trip.
