Dublin Zoo - Dublin Attraction

Dublin Zoo – Discover This Beautiful Location

Dublin Zoo - Dublin AttractionDublin is a city that will hold its own power over a lot of people and it is easy to see why traveling Ireland is such a great thing to do. However, when you are looking for things to do in Dublin you will find that you have plenty of places to visit and see, but you may notice that one area that we have not really covered yet, because I personally love the history of Dublin Castle and Dublinia is the Dublin Zoo. However, the lobbying of my friends told me that it was time for me to go out and cover this location in a more in-depth review. I know this is going to be a little bit on the longer side, possibly, but I will try to keep it shorter for you so you can go out and enjoy this location. I will tell you that you are going to need to set aside a good day or so to get out to the attraction and make sure you see everything that you want to.

Location Of The Dublin Zoo

Well, I have to admit the first thing that you need to know about is the location of the Dublin Zoo. I know this will not be part of the review, but it is not going to help you out if you do not know where you are going to go. Since this is the case, I have decided that it was time to let you know where to go to see the zoo. Here is the address and map which will make it easier for you to find your way to the zoo.

Phoenix Park

Dublin 8, Ireland

As you can tell this park is rather large and very popular as it does have some ambassadors homes and other places that are going to be some of the more powerful locations you are going to see on your way to the zoo.

Animals You Can See At Dublin Zoo

Well, I have to admit getting a zoo review done is a challenge because you are going to see that the animals are going to have a major say on the zoo and how popular it is going to be. This is why you are going to want to go out and know about the animals the zoo has which is what we are going to cover here in a brief description as I said I want to keep the article very short because you need to have some time to get out and enjoy the zoo.

Mammals

Asian Elephants in Dublin ZooMammals are a common and very popular attraction in a zoo and the Dublin Zoo does not disappoint in this. The place has several different mammals that you can visit and know this is going to be a great place for you to go out and see some of the animals that you would never have seen before. Now, I will share my two favorite mammals that are in the zoo and this will make it easier for you to know what you should see.

The lions that are located in the zoo are definitely one of the favorites that I have in the zoo. Not to mention, how often do you have a chance to go out and see a lion in a zoo or anywhere else. What I really like is the animals are kept in a very good enclosure that will make it easier for you to see the beautiful animals in a scenery that that is as close to natural as possible.

The Asian elephant is another animal you have to see when you are visiting the Dublin Zoo. These elephants are simply amazing and definitely one that will impress you with the size and majesty that they have. What is really cool about these elephants is just sitting and watching them figure out the problems that are presented to them by the zookeepers to help keep their minds active.

Birds

Well, I have to say that birds are amazing and one of those creatures that if you study them long enough you will see the dinosaurs in. So this is going to make it easier for you to have a great imagination of the animals and know these birds are going to be a close relative. Now the zoo does not have as many birds on display as you can see at other zoos, but they do have one of my favorites and that is the flamingo. I have to say if you are here you have to at least take a glance at the flamingos, even if you do not like them, they are full of pageantry for you to look upon.

One other bird that I will mention that I like and find very fun to look at is the peacocks. However, I only like it when they are fanned out and showing off the impressive display of feathers that the peacocks are known for having. So this is definitely something you are going to like because it definitely makes it easier for you to see these beautiful birds and know you will be seeing a majestic animal.

Reptiles

Okay, I know this group is going to have snakes in it. Yuck, I do not like snakes and really cannot stand them. I guess you could say that I am a little bit scared of snakes, but I found this to be common among a lot of people. So this is definitely a group that I will not stick around on long. However, the reptiles that are in the zoo in Dublin do have one of the animals that I really like and that is what I will mention in the next paragraph.

The one that I really love from the reptile family that is here is the West African crocodile. This animal is one that I absolutely love getting a chance to look at, but also one that allows me to see the raw power the animals possess. This makes it easier for me to have a great look at the animals and know that not all of them are going to be weak and some of them are going to have the dominant powers that everyone should be aware of.Crocodile

Amphibians

This group as you already know will include a lot of frogs. Well, the zoo here is very limited in what it has in the way of offerings in this group. However, the Fire-bellied toad they do have is one of the coolest animals you can see. Not to mention you do not have to worry about this one getting placed in your hand if you are a girl because it is behind glass and no one can get to it to pull it out to put it inside of your palm.

Invertebrates

The largest group of animals in the world is invertebrates as they account for close to 97% of the animal species around the globe. So this will definitely be something for you to look forward to because it does make it quite a bit easier for you to get to see the animals that are around the world. One of the best animals I have found at the Dublin Zoo that would fall into this category is the walking stick. This animal is simply amazing and I really love how it looks and how it is going to look exactly like a stick that you would never have thought is just waiting for its next victim to come along.

Additional Attractions

Now, I have to say you may think the zoo is only the animals and that is it. However, this is not the case and in fact you will find the location does have several other things as well and the best part is most of the money goes back to supporting the zoo. Some of the main things you will want to do is make sure you hit up the shops for the zoo. These will allow you to buy some awesome gifts to bring back home. However, after you see the animals in the zoo you will want to make sure you get some great food to get your energy levels back up to go and see even more of the Dublin attractions.

My Final Thoughts On The Dublin Zoo

When you are looking at all the Dublin attractions, the Dublin Zoo may not rank high on the list because a zoo is a zoo all over the world. However, I have to say when you are visiting a zoo that is the largest and oldest in Ireland it is important to give it a chance. The Dublin Zoo is a place you will enjoy and it is also a place you are going to like because it has plenty for you to see and do and is located in a beautiful park.
