Discover The Beautiful Cities Of Rhode Island
Rhode Island is far from a large state, but it is definitely a state that you are going ot enjoy when you visit. I know that Rhode Island is a very beautiful state and one that is often overlooked because of the size of the state. That is why I have worked so hard on getting the information you need to travel around Rhode Island and know you are going to have a great vacation. Without this information you could end up thinking you have reached the perfect destination, only to find out when you get back home, the city just down the road had more of the attractions you wanted to see. Since this is the case, I went out and worked hard to find what I believe are the top cities to visit in Rhode Island.
Warwick
Warwick is the second largest city in Rhode Island, but it is far from feeling crowded. The city has a great atmosphere about it and is very welcoming. The airport is the main airport that handles most of the traffic that would be coming into the state. However, it is also a place that has quite a bit of history to for it as well. The city is also home to the second in command of the Revolutionary War. Goddard Memorial Park is a great place to go with the family and know you are going to have a great trip because you have a chance to go out for a picnic and enjoy the trip you are having as well. If you want to go out and see some of the other sites a great attraction to go on is going to be the East Bay Bike Path that will make it easier for you to have an amazing view of the bays, but also have a chance to get in shape as a family.
Newport
Newport is a very beautiful city that has a great location and it also has a yacht race that almost everyone is going to recognize in the America’s Cup. What else is great about the location is the fact that Newport has some amazing views of the sea as you can tell because of the yachting community. If you are a fan of mansions that are open for tours, then Newport is also your city as it has a couple of mansions for you to go out and tour. These include the beautiful and majestic house called The Breakers and the amazing Marble House. If you want to get more into history then you will love the fact that you can go on tours of and enjoy the majestic beauty that is seen when you are looking at Fort Adams State Park. No matter what with all the water around the city you know you have found a great place to go and visit because of what you have available to see and do.
Providence
Providence is the capital city and with that comes a lot of the beauty of a capital city. However, the city is not overly large like you see with some of the other cities that are capitals, like Baltimore. Instead, this is a beautiful city that has maintained a lot of the charm of the country but transformed into the city. The city is home to a great museum in the RISD Museum that has a tendency to have a lot of Native American Art and Silver displays. The other great museum that you will want to check out is the John Brown House which is a great museum and definitely something you will enjoy because it has a lot for you to come out and see. A great history lesson can be found in the Industrial Revolution if you want to be going and visiting the Slater Mill. This is a stunning mill that makes it easier for you to have a great history lesson and get a chance to explore the different aspects of the industrial revolution.
Woonsocket
Woonsocket is a city that is not really well known, but if you have ever been to a CVS Pharmacy then you need to realize the headquarters for the city is here in Woonsocket. However, the city is also a place that will simply amaze you because of its beautiful location and easy access to Massachusetts. Oddly one of the museums that you may want to tour, while on vacation, is the Museum of Work and Culture. This is a great museum to take a tour of and learn quite a bit about the city. At the same time, if you want to connect with nature then you will like the fact that you have a chance to get out and enjoy the natural beauty of the area by going a little bit out of the city and going to Blackstone Gorge.
Bristol
Bristol is easily one of the best places for you to go and visit. This has some of the best places to go and visit and it is definitely one of those places that has a history that you are going to want to enjoy. When you are in Bristol you will need to make sure you check out Blithewold Mansion, which is a very historic place for you to enjoy and has some amazing views of the ocean from the beauty of the mansion. If you want to learn about yachting and sailing then you will want to make sure you know about the Herreshoff Marine Museum. This is a museum that has a lot of the older boats on display but also makes it easier for you to have a great vacation because you are going to learn about all the boats that have been used in the past America’s Cup races. No matter what one of the best attractions for you to enjoy is going to be Mount Hope Bay.
How To Pick Which City To Visit In Rhode Island
Rhode Island is a small state, but it is definitely a state that has a lot for you to see and do. The best part is the size of the state makes it quite a bit easier for you to get from one point in the state to the next. However, once you have found one of these beautiful cities in Rhode Island to visit, the chances are good you will want to stay in the one city and enjoy your trip. Then you will not have to worry about missing out on anything because you can use the city as your base camp point and drive to the places you want to see. Since this is the case I have given you what I feel are the best cities in Rhode Island to visit and this is definitely going to make it quite a bit easier for you to find the right city to go and visit and know your vacation is going to be very fulfilling based off of what you want to see and do.
