Antwerp Travel – Traveling Around Antwerp

Antwerp is a place that you may not think about going to before, but when you are traveling around Antwerp you will want to make sure you know about the must-see attractions. These attractions are the ones that you cannot go to Antwerp without visiting, at least in my opinion. Yes, each person will have their own differences, but I can tell you that this is definitely something I am really going to love because it allows me to showcase more of what I am going to have in the way of my taste, but also allows me to show you more of the country that I love. So you will not end up disappointed in the location and think that it is nothing more than another city that you could find to be very boring and old.

What Did I Use To Narrow Down My Picks

I have to admit, I really used the things that I like most and this is a reflection of the likes that I have more than anything else. This is how I worked on my list and this is what I did to make it easier for me to make this list. I know that I did try to throw in a variety of places, some of which I did not really care for, but I know that some other people are going to like. With that being said, I found this is a great way to showcase the city that I have fallen in love with time and time again. All of these attractions will make it easier for you to have a great time in Antwerp, a city you are sure to fall in love with.

1. Royal Museum of Fine Arts

Well, I have to start off with this disclaimer and that is this is a location that is temporarily closed so they can renovate the location. However, when it was open this was easily the best attraction you could find in the city. It had plenty of art pieces for you to enjoy, but also had some of the pieces that you would never have seen outside of the location.What is nice is the age of the art pieces that were in the location ranged from the 14th-century all the way to the more modern pieces that were made in the 20th-century. So these pieces were definitely something you could enjoy and even better it was more than just your basic artworks as it also included sculptures as well.

Now, it has been noted that some of the collection is still on display, but it is not available at the museum to see. So this will allow you to see some of the art pieces, but until 2020 the museum itself is closed as it is being renovated and I am sure it will become something even better than what I seen the first time.

2. Grote Markt van Antwerpen

The Grote Markt is not so much a specific place, but actually is one of the town squares that is home to the city hall and the beautiful shops and restaurants that have helped to make Antwerp one of those places that you are going to personally love. So this is definitely one of those places that you will want to set aside some time to just take a stroll through the old town square. The place has the picturesque city hall in the background as well and that is definitely going to help you out in making sure you have a good time because you will finally have a chance to go out and see some of the famous architecture that everyone seems to talk about.

What is key is to make sure you have set aside enough time to enjoy a meal in the square. Yes, the place may not seem like it is going to have much for it, but I can tell you that this is a place that is going to have plenty for you to see and do in the way of food. You just have to make sure you broaden your horizons to guarantee you find the place you want to eat at.

3. Cogels Osylei 

Just like above this is not so much a single location, but an actual street instead of a square. That is because the town of Antwerp is known for having some of the best architecture that is well preserved for you to go out and see. This is the main street in Antwerp that will have the architecture marvels you are going to want to see and that will make it quite a bit easier for you to have a great time because you will be able to go at your own pace and see these beautiful buildings that are the marvels you never really imagined you would be able to see in a single place, but they are definitely all here and definitely will make it easier for you to have a great trip because you can see these marvels that are amazing.

4. Red Star Line Museum 

The Red Star cruise line is one that was world famous for so many people that it is not funny. In fact, one of the major claims to fame the location has is the fact that this is a shipping line that was able to help over 3 million people migrate around the world. This is definitely something that the company can be very proud of because some of the people they helped became world famous.

At this museum, you will notice it is going to really take into account the people it helped to move around the world. However, at the same time, it will be a place that is going to have books about the people they helped, the ships, the crews, and even the museum shop. This is a great place to spend an afternoon taking a great tour that will really be impressive by the time you are done. No matter what the key thing you will have to admit is the fact this is a location that did see a lot of people come through it and has a history of helping that you are going to love.

5. De Koninck Antwerp City Brewery

Beer is one of the great drinks to come from Belgium and when you are looking for some great beer then you will recognize the De Koninck name as being one of the more famous. What is really nice is they do have a brewery in Antwerp and it is one of those places that you will like to go and have a unique experience of getting to explore the brewery. This will make it quite a bit easier for you to have a great trip, but also know you are going to have a chance to go out and see the way the beer is made. Now, no recipes are given out for obvious reasons, but you will definitely have a great time at the location because you will have a chance to see everything that you can imagine and what is really nice is you do have a chance to buy some of the amazing beer that you just saw being made a little bit earlier.

6. Middelheimpark

Now, this is an open-air sculpture park that is in the middle of another park. However, if you get a chance you will find the sculptures you can come here to see are going to be out of this world cool. What is really nice is the fact that some of these are ones that will leave you wondering what you are looking at and this really allows you to draw your own conclusions about what you are seeing. So this is definitely going to be something you need to consider because it will definitely make it easier for you to expand your horizons when you are looking at the sculptures.

What is even better about this park is the fact that it is easy to find and this allows you to have a great trip because you will be able to find the park easily and quickly. What else you will love is the sunshine, if it is out will allow you to see some of the most beautiful areas of the city without having to do a lot to get out of the city itself.

Is This All Of The Attractions To See? 

You may have noticed that I did try to include quite a few different items and I can tell you that you will find there are a lot more attractions in the city. I will be attempting to include more of these in the future, but I do really have to say this is a city that has so many attractions that it is going to very difficult to include everything that I do love about the place and really find attractive. Since this is the case, I do have to say when you are traveling around Antwerp it will be easy for you to have a great trip and knowing about these attractions will help you out in getting to have an amazing trip that you will talk about for years to come.
