How Did I Narrow Down My Attractions List

I have to say this was quite a bit of fun and it was a challenge at the same time. However, I will tell you that I narrowed down my list by going out and looking at the different attractions and figuring out what I would like in the attraction. Now, I know that not everyone would like the same thing I do, so I also tried to figure out things that some people may like to do that I would not, which is how I came up with some more of the list. The other thing that I did was started to look at the things that families may want to do as well, so I tried to include a few family-friendly ideas as well. Overall, I hope you like the list and enjoy the same things I do!

6. Canada Olympic Park

Canada Olympics ParkThis is a place that you have to check out if you are a fan of the Olympics. Yes, it is older as it was built when Calgary hosted the Winter Olympics in 1988. However, it is a place that is going to allow you to have a great time because you can still take tours of the places that held the Olympic games, but if you get up to the tower you will find you are going to have some of the most breathtaking views you can imagine of Calgary. So this definitely makes the entire trip worth the adventure you are going to be doing by going out to this area. When you are here you will also notice that in addition to getting a chance to see the beautiful areas of the region you can finally enjoy some of the active actions you can do around the area and that includes zipling and even mountain biking.

5. Calgary Tower

Calgar TowerCalgary Tower is one place that you will like for the revolving restaurant on the top of the tower. This is definitely a major attraction that you are sure to love when you are in the tower. However, what else you are going to love about this tower is the fact that it is going to have some of the best views you can find in Calgary. Then you will be able to hae a great view of the cityscape itself and even allow you to see the mountains in the background of the city. So this is definitely going to allow you to have a great view. Not only that you will notice this is going to make it easier for you to have a great time making the plans and spotting where you are going to be going the next day. As you can tell from the picture that is on the left hand side here you will see that you are able to get the amazing views you just have to make sure you are not scared of heights because this definitely helps you in getting to see the amazing views that are high up in the sky. Just make sure you are ready to explore Calgary as the tower gives you plenty of places to go out and explore from the views that you are going to get from the top of the tower.

4. Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede is one of those places that you have to time it right and be in Calgary when you are visiting or you could easily miss out on the adventure that you can have here. The Calgary Stampede is a 10 day festival more or less, but it is also the world famous rodeo that so many people have come to expect and have fallen in love with. This will make it easier for you to have a good time and know you enjoy the stampede and be able to have a great time. The problem you may find is you are going to have to cope with a lot of crowds as this event is so popular the crowds are going to be quite a bit in the summer months and definitely will increase the crowds that are seen in the area. This is definitely an attraction you will like, but at the same time if you do not care for large crowds this may be the time that you would want to avoid Calgary, for me, though, this is definitely the time that I want to be here because the pagentry of the Stampede is well worth the crowds.

3. Military Museums

I love history and it is easy to see that the military is going to be an important part of history. Even if you do not believe in war a common theme you will find is you have to have the military presence to keep you safe and free. What is even more amazing is the fact that the military helped to guarantee this freedom when they were fighting the Axis powers in World War II and even in World War I. The military museums that are in Calgary, which are some of the best you can find in Canada, are going to promote a lot of the history that the military had in the role of keeping Canada free, but also in the way that it should be remembered as the proud fighting force that it is. When you are here you will find most of the exhibits you can visit are going to be more along the lines of interactive ones that will make it easier for you to have a great time and learn about different aspects of the military you may have never known about before.

2. Calgary Zoo And Prehistoric Park

I have to say I really do like animals, but I never imagined that they would have a combination of a zoo and a prehistoric park at the same time. This is definitely a great feature and one that you are going to love about this location because you have a chance to see the animals that are alive and definitely going to allow you to have a great time seeing the amazing animals that you would normally never be able to see because they are in the wild and you obviously do not live in the area where these animals are found normally. At the same time, though, this is going to allow you to take a step in to the ancient time and enjoy the fact this place has quite a few dinosaurs that you can see as well. Now, this is not Jurassic Park so the dinosaurs are not alive, but you will find they are going to be fossils and rendentions of the dinosaurs you are going to really fall in love with time and time again.

1. Heritage Park

Now, I have to say this is ranked as my number 1 attraction in Calgary, but it is definitely a battle between the Zoo and the Heritage Park. However, this location definitely came out on top when I started to look at how this helped to showcase the area as it would have been when it was settled. I know this may not seem like you are going to think about, but you will find that the park is one that is formed exactly off of the way a town in the area would have been set up at the time of settlement. What is really great is the fact this is a place that has what many would consider to be a vintage type of fur trading post. So this will definitely allow you to have a great time because you can explore the area and see how the region would evolve from the frontier towns that you are not really used to seeing to being able to explore the gasoline powered items in the vintage area that has some of the changes in motor power. If you want to get around the park, you will like the fact that you can do this with a steam power engine.

How To Pick The Calgary Attraction To Check Out

Finding the best place to check out on Calgary is a challenge, but it should not be that much of a challenge for you to do if you know about what areas you should be visiting and the main attractions. One main attraction you will notice that I did leave off was the Rocky Mountains, but I know that attraction is very obvious and definitely going to be something you will find as a major attraction. Overall, though, I would have to say picking the attraction you want to find in Calgary is going to be a challenge, but with the list that you have here it will be easier for you to find the right place to visit and know you will have a great time.
