Charleston definitely has plenty of attractions and one of the biggest attractions is easily the Kanawha River. Well, that may lead to some people trying to figure out how to get the most out of the river. That is when you need to explore more about the Haddad Riverfront Park in our review here. Now, granted this is a park so the review will not be overly long, but lets just say it may help you in knowing more about the beautiful park that is located in downtown Charleston.

Location Of Haddad Riverfront Park

Haddad Riverfront Park is a place that does not have a true address. However, the location is very easy to find as it is a large park and it is along the river. Not to mention, the larger concert stage that has the river as the backdrop really makes it easier for you to find the park.

Great Views Of The River

Okay, I have to admit one thing that you want to see in a river town is the river. Well, with a lot of the river towns they have so much development on the riverfront that it is hard to get a great look of the river. Well, with the Haddad Riverfront Park it actually allows you to have some great views of the rivers, but also gives you a space that makes it easier for you to look down at the river and enjoy it.

Now, if you are at the park when there is a concert you will like the fact that you are able to enjoy the river views. The reason for that is the concert stage has the river serving as a backdrop to the stage. This type of backdrop is simply amazing and definitely one of those places that you are going to love and enjoy, but also this gives you great river views as well.

Plenty Of Parking If You Arrive Early

Parking in any city is a difficult thing to find. However, what you will notice is the park is going to be very difficult to find if you do not arrive to any of the locations early enough. The good news is Haddad Park does have plenty of parking normally and if you are not going to a concert or an event it is very easy to find parking.

As a key point if you are planning on going to Charleston and Haddad Riverfront Park for an event, especially the Fourth of July fireworks is to arrive early. That will make it easier for you to find a parking spot and know that you are going to get to where you need to be inside of the park. So make sure you take this into account when you are getting into the park otherwise you could end up stuck parking a fairly good hike from the park.

Chance To Find Great Food

Depending on the event you may find that the Haddad Riverfront Park does have great food available. The park may not have the food directly in the park itself, but it could have some food available from various vendors. Those are going to really set the park off from the other places that you are going to travel to, but also the food quality tends to be very high.

Even if you cannot find food inside of the park, you will find plenty of restaurants that are very close to the park. These restaurants for the most part are not the typical chain food that you may have grown used to eating. Instead, the food tends to be quite a bit better than what you would expect and that makes it easier for you to get a great meal and still be able to get back to the park to enjoy the food.

Can Get Extremely Crowded

The Haddad Riverfront Park is an extremely popular location for the Charleston residents to hang out in. However, if it is a concert night or the park is hosting an event the crowds can grow ten-fold compared to what you normally experience. With that being said, I will tell you that the park can easily get crowded and those crowds do take up quite a bit of the parking spaces that are available and that can limit how much space you have available for your own parking.

My Final Thoughts On Haddad Riverfront Park

Charleston has plenty of attractions and the Kanawha River is definitely a major draw. However, what you are going to love is the riverfront park here. I have to admit the Haddad Riverfront Park is one place that I was hesitant about featuring, but I simply love the park. It has almost everything that you could want to have, but at the same time the river really sets the park off from what you can find elsewhere. Overall, if you have the time and want to enjoy the Kanawha River then you have to check out Haddad Riverfront Park.
